15 PSI Desuperheater
Pressure reducing station which reduces 825 psi
high pressure steam to 15 psi low pressure steam. This low pressure
steam is then used to supplement the low pressure steam system
throughout the plant.
23 KV Substation
The 23,000 volt substation that is
located upstairs on the second and third floors of the power house. This
substation directs power made by #8 and #9 Generators to other areas of
Weirton Steel.
30 psi Steam
Steam used at various psi
throughout the mill.
323 Cleaner Salts
A chemical that is added to the
cleaners to assist in the cleaning process.
34" Standardizing Bar
Steel bar used to standardize the
reading of the measuring table.
3-High Tower
A series of rolls used in the
movement of prime and off-gauge strips.
700 PSI Desuperheater
Pressure reducing station which
reduces 825 psi high pressure steam to 700 psi intermediate pressure
steam. This intermediate pressure steam is then used to run the turbines
in the Foster Wheeler Plant.
